some of the nice things you say about NMS
Just wanted to thank you for a fantastic week of climbing - I had an absolute blast and am really feeling the bump of reality having returned to my normal life, in flat surroundings at sea level.....
I'd like to compliment your choice of routes, you found us some great leads to push some boundaries and build good confidence and also gave us some great seconds to really push us hard!
Choice of hotel in Cogne was outstanding, La Barme is a really great place - I really enjoyed the food and relaxed atmosphere, amazing for the price and location!
I had a really fun week and laughed so much, it really did feel like I was on holiday with an old friend - really like your style!
Hope to meet up with you again in the future for some more climbing...
Jon Ryall - Cogne Ice Climbing 2010
I just wanted to drop you a line to say thank you so much for the week you spent with Jon and myself in Cogne. You'd arranged everything so well, and the hotel was such a good find! Somewhere that I'd definitely like to stay again!.
It was amazing, I can't believe the amount of quality (classic!) routes that we ticked off during the week. I was harbouring hopes of getting on the sharp end at some point during the trip but didn't think I'd actually have the belief in myself!! But I felt so calm and confident under your guidance, and to end up leading 3 pitches was something I never expected from myself. The whole week was such a laugh, a lot of good banter and this was just the icing on the cake for me :)
Louise Grimster - Cogne Ice Climbing 2010
Tim was an excellent mentor on the hill and we covered all the topics that each of us wanted covered. This particular workshop proved to be not only an ideal refresher for qualified winter mountain leaders, but also a valuable last minute update for those about to undergo assessment. Thanks very much Tim
Keith Gault MLTA Workshop 2010
Just had an amazing two days in Scotland with Tim. I think a may book on to a Winter ML after been inspired to get out on the hill in winter conditions with confidence.
Thanks again for a great weekend and I will be attending one of Tim's courses again.

Just thought I would forward some honest feedback comments regarding the MLTA 2 day winter skills course.
Personally I thought you delivered it well, you taught as many winter skills as you could over the two days. You were supportive to all students on the course and threw in a lot of helpful tips. My marks would be from 1 to 10, I would certainly give you a 10. Would I go back to you to learn more Winter Skills, bloody right I would. Well done.
Have a great week.
Paddy Doyle MLTA Workshop 2010
'Excellent course delivered by a top guy. Some very good tips on how to deliver winter skills courses and done in a very flexible manner. My fellow attendees and I were also able to bounce ideas and experiences off of each other. Overall a great 2 days.'

'Once again thanks for last week. Feedback from the group has been excellent, complimenting your teaching and assessment styles'
.
Martin Simpson, CWA Assessment Nov 2009
Many thanks for your kindness and company last week on the ML assessment. I found myself very much at ease with your style of leadership and group management. I hope I can emulate that ease with my own groups.

Wanted to thank you for a superb ML(S) Assessment cse (pass on thanks to Matt also). You made the difference betweeen an assessment of our standards (which any technically competent man could have done effectively), and an inspirational few days where you educated us about hill skills and hill mentality. Hat off to you- do feel free to post my praise (just visited your website), because people reading your website should know that as well as being able to lead full-on "proper" expeds in extreme places I will never see, you also care enough to excel in helping beginners in UK hills.
Gary Lawrence, ML Assessment 2009
'What a fab 3 days. Tim has the patience of a saint and is very calm and encouraging. We have learnt so much from our 3 days and we are totally committed to getting out there on our own and practicing. We will definitely book Tim again when we want to progress into ice climbing and would recommend him to anyone looking for guiding &/or instruction.'
Baz & Duncan rock climbing course 2009
'A fantastic week of ski touring, but with a lot more added by Andy (& aspirant guide Tim Blakemore).
Things like getting us to work as a team in the most realistic transceiver test I have ever encountered; and showing us some basic techniques for crevasse rescue (AND getting us all to enjoy trying these at one of the mountain huttes) - for me (with limited experience) these added enormously to the week. Andy gauged what was needed by the group to build for the future as well as giving us a really exciting weeks skiiing'.
David Claridge - Silvretta 2009
'Hi Tim,
Well I'm back in the UK and missing the mountains already!
I just wanted to drop you a line to say a massive thank you for everything
over the past week in Saas Grund.
You've inspired me so much, and I feel like I've really grown in confidence
as a mountaineer. It was a great week, and yourself and Paul were truly
amazing
guides.'
Louise, Saas 4000'ers 2009
'The week on the Matterhorn trip was amazing, although very intense so i think i have only just got back to normal now!
Our guides Klemen ( Klemen is the Slovenian Guides President - Tim) and Tim were fantastic, Klemen always seemed to have all the arrangements under control even though they were changing every minute due to the weather. Myself and David climbed with Tim for most of the week and being relative novices he definitely had his work cut out for him, but he was extremely patient, clear with instructions and took the time to teach us alot during the course of the week.
Overall despite the hard work and blisters i had an incredible and very enjoyable week' Anna
'Just wanted to say a massive thanks for a fantastic week man. I wasn't sure what to expect from the ml course but it turned out to be most awesome. It was informative, fun, and progressive and with a great instructional style it has been the best training course to date. It has left me feeling really inspired and motivated with my mountaineering'.
'Feedback for the course last week - all good, I thought the course was excellent. I was very nervous about it, but your approach really put me at ease. I think we got through absolutely loads of stuff in quite a short time. I also appreciate all the advice and extra training I was given throughout the assessment. Thanks again'.
'Cheers for the SPA Tim, I had a cracking time. Be in touch for ML
assesment'. Micky
'I just wanted to say a big thank you for the exciting Feb week while based in Strathcarron.
Your positive encouragement allowed me to enjoy a new world of North west Scotland and work towards fully focusing on enjoying the climb rather than thinking about the fall line'.
'Many thanks for making our week in Loch Carron so enjoyable. I feel that I got a lot out of your tutelage, particularly in reinforcing basic knowledge and skills. I'm looking forward to a bit more winter climbing if conditions improve and work allows and the week with you has definitely given us a bit of self belief to tackle harder, meatier routes than we have before'. Ed
"I wanted to thank you for a very enjoyable week last week. As a guide you where excellent and your ability to understand people and instruct accordingly is exceptional. I wish you all the luck for your forthcoming assessments and a great time in the Alps if you go on to guide there". Rod.
"Once again thanks for an awesome course, I know the lads all really enjoyed it and got loads out of it." Tom
"Many thanks once again for the training weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed it
and with no doubt this is thanks to your excellent guiding, teaching and social
skills! I hope you would be glad to hear that it was an inspiring weekend
for me and would definitely like to do some more stuff this winter - if
there only will be enough snow in the mountains!"
"Thanks for a great day out on Ledge Route with Ania. With the exception of Aconcagua summit day last december, that was the best mountain day out I've had in years.
Despite the lighthearted, unrushed pace, we seemed to cover so much over the whole weekend and I really felt I got a lot for my money.
I'll definitely recommend you to anyone else I know looking for a Guide"
"Thanks for a great 3 days, the pics look fantastic. Covered what we wanted and more, Fantastic. Good Luck with the guides scheme!
Hopefully see you in the future"
"Hey Tim hope your well(better!!)
What a great few days!!
Thanks"
"Just wanted to e-mail you to say we had a great time on the snow & ice climbing course we've just got back from. Tim was excellent and took us up some challenging routes which we thoroughly enjoyed, we've certainly learned a lot from him during the week. Hopefully the winter season will continue for a while so we can get out and about on our own".
'Thank you very, very much for your endless patience with us all and more especially the geriatric end of the clientele during those days in Skye. Sheila and I have done nothing but talk about our week since we got back, and, believe me, you and Martin played a key part in ensuring such total enjoyment and excitement.'
'Cheers for the SPA course Tim. Trainees were all buzzing! Aled'
'A quick email to say thank you so much for your guidance on the Cuillin ridge last week. My dad and I had a fantastic time. We're delighted to have 'knocked off' the In Pin and, in all, we had one of the best week's climbing we've ever had'.
'The SPA Training Course was run in a very easy to understand and professional way and taught me a lot about single pitch climbing and the way the MLTUK awards work. Also it only costs about half the price of the National Mountain Centres!'
'I''m back in Africa now, and just wanted to send a quick message to say thanks for your assessment course. I really appreciated your style of doing the assessment. Despite the nerves, it was good for me to confirm areas where I am doing well and highlight areas which need a bit more work.
Well, anyway. Thanks again for the course. I enjoyed it.'
'Just a brief message to thank you very much for the thoroughly enjoyable experience on the SPA assessment t'other week - a great surprise to me as NGB's have never have much spark before! I thought your way of educating was incredibley effective, progressive and enlightening. A great balance of what is important, which created a real positive feel to the whole experience!'
"B4 I came on a corse wid u I couldn't even spell mountaineer. Now I is one."
