Swiss 4000m Peaks

The Saastal valley of Switzerland in the Valais Alps is home to many 4000m peaks. The village of Saas Gruund is a great base from which to explore with an excellent (this is Switzerland) public transport system serving all the local areas. During a six day course working alongside Olly Allen we climbed the Strahlhorn 4190m, the Alallinhorn 4027m, the Wiessmies 4017m and the lagginhorn 4010m at up to PD standard. The alps are in good shape at the moment with a good covering of snow which is ideal for classic mountaineering.
