Technical Advisory work and ML Assessment

A diverse and different week to the norm at this time of year. I'm back in the central belt for a weeks 'rest' before heading back north for the remainder of the winter season. Firstly, congratulations to Phil Mack for passing his ML on a particularly dreich day this week. We went to Ben Ledi and were ably assisted (?) by Michael and Gregor as well as Jan.

Northern Mountain Sport are able to offer re-assessment and refresher days for the whole range of MLTE awards. Contact us to discuss your requirements.

As part of my role as 'Technical Advisor' to Harmeny Outdoors I'm retained to offer staff training as well as specific advice. This training day was a busy one! We visited the excellent 'on site' resources and looked at effective and safe ways of using them. We then carried out a review of the existing Standard Operating Procedures and risk assessments which have undergone a full review in the last 12 months. Lastly, we visited Blackford Quarry for a practical session focussing on current issues within the SPA scheme.

If your organisation holds an AALS Licence or is considering gaining one and requires advice or a 'Technical Advisor' then don't hesitate to contact us for further information. We can offer staff training in all land based activities as well as generic risk assessing etc
