SPA Training, AALA Inspections & SPA Assessment

Images from a diverse and busy week or so of work.

Another MLTE course (SPA training) with CCAT (Cadet Centre for Adventurous Training) based out of Halton Training Camp. We used Farleton Crag, Anglezarke Quarry and Kendal Wall.

I then spent two days with AALS (Adventure Activities Licencing Service) Senior Inspector Anne Salisbury carrying out two licence renewal inspections. In the UK, if you provide adventurous activities to young people (under 18) for gain then you are bound by this legislation and require a licence.

Lastly, I have just provided an SPA Assessment course in the Northumberland/Edinburgh area. We visited Berryhill Crag, Bowden Doors, Alien Rock and Rosyth Quarry. The SPA award is the appropriate qualification if you want to run single pitch climbing and abseiling sessions for young people in the UK.

The next SPA training course is 11 - 12 September

The next SPA assessment course is 13 - 14 September

If you require further details on these or any other future courses don't hesitate to contact us.
