Ski Mountaineering in the Bernese Oberland

Eifion and I have just had a great 6 days ski touring and mountaineering in the Swiss Bernese Oberland. The weather was settled though unseasonly warm, which allowed late starts for a change in the alps (to get good descents). We used the Konkordia, Finsteraarhorn and Hollandia huts (for 5 nights) and climbed the Trugberg 3880m, Wyssnollen 3590m (nw ridge), Gross Wannenhorn 3905.5m (that's what the Swiss say) and Ebnehflue 3962m. We descended the Lotschenlucke pass on the last day to give (from the Ebnehflue) over 2000m of vertical descent. If you want more information on this tour and others look at Bill O'Connor's 'alpine ski mountaineering' vol 1 & 2 by Cicerone.

the Dreieckhorn & Aletschhornapparently you are a nobody in Switzerland until you have a cow sticking out the side of your houselooking southwest towards the Lotschenlucke & Hollandia Hut from Konkordia HutEifion on the Ebnehfluethe NW ridge of the Wyssnollen PDskiing off the Ebnehflue
