Scottish Winter Climbing

I've just finished a weeks climbing instructing & guiding on the west coast of Scotland in excellent conditions. The course was an 'intro' to winter climbing including climbing alpine type ridges as well as mixed and ice climbing to grade V.
moving together on Sron na Larig II (Glencoe)
Emma belaying at the top of the route
on the finishing chimney of 'Moonshadow' IV 5 (Glencoe)
negotiating the cornice on Aonach Mor
During the week Dan & Emma climbed: Sron na Larig II, Moonshadow IV 5, Nausea II/III, Tinseltown V 4 & Curved Ridge II/III.
It's good to see Scotland in proper winter conditions so early in the season. I'm guiding for most of February (including hosting on the International Meet at Glenmore Lodge) so will be adding images & conditions to this site shortly.

Just wanted to e-mail you to say we had a great time on the snow & ice climbing course we've just got back from. Tim was excellent and took us up some challenging routes which we thoroughly enjoyed, we've certainly learned a lot from him during the week. Hopefully the winter season will continue for a while so we can get out and about on our own.

Cheers

Dan & Emma
