About NMS

Tim Blakemore

Northern Mountain Sport is directed by Tim Blakemore. Tim holds the Mountain Instructor Certificate (MIC), the UK's highest level mountaineering qualification that certifies the holder to teach all aspects of rock, snow and ice climbing throughout the UK.

He is a Mountain Leader Training England (www.mlte.org) Director and Provider for the full range of National Governing Body Awards and a member of the Association of British Mountain Guides www.bmg.org.uk

He has been walking and climbing since his teens and has a wealth of experience gained from both home and abroad including Antarctica, Asia, South, Central and North America, Africa as well as extensive experience throughout Europe and Scandinavia. Scottish winter climbing remains his passion.

His career has spanned over a decade and has included guiding and instruction throughout the UK and abroad as well as youth based outdoor education and centre management. He is a technical advisor to a number of organisations.

He is currently undertaking the (IFMGA) British Mountain Guide www.bmg.org.ukTraining and Assesment scheme and is an Aspirant Guide.

Tim lives with his son Michael and girlfriend Sarah and continues to enjoy the local crags and hills.
