Education Debate
introduced by students from Thomas Hepburn School, presented by students from Ryton School with a panel of special guests including Professor Sugata Mitra, the Mayor of Gateshead and Cllr Donovan.
Fab tv broadcast from the students at Dryden School interviewing Mrs Margaret Minns about her experiences of school and education in the 30s...Fascinating and some great questions.

The Students from Dryden School went to visit Beamish to what life was like in the past and to find out how children were taught in the olden days. They found that lessons were very different and life was not the same as it is now. I think they enjoyed riding on the tram and visiting the sweet shop in the town centre though!
Gateshead students from Dryden, Thomas Hepburn and Whickham schools take part in a world record attempt to create the largest interactive weather report with BBC.
Students took the temperature here outside the City Learning Centre, had it verified by a third party witness and faxed the details off to the BBC weather centre.
The Gateshead Temperature was: 5 degrees celsius
Students worked hard to get the news out on time!
