4Mation Audio Resources
For those of you old enough to remember Granny's Garden and Flowers of Crystal we have a real treat. 4Mation have placed the audio stories from these games on their site as Mp3 files Trevor Carter helped them out as they had to take the audio from a reel to reel which he happened to have so he converted the audio for present day audiences.
We would like to use these stories and integrate them with the technology of today you can book a session at the Gateshead CLC where we can use the soundtracks with applications such as Photo-story using pupils drawings or animations using Digi-blues or 2animate. We will showcase pupils work on the website. If you are interested in using the CLC to create the stories then contact us to book a session. If you want to take part in this in the school then simply go to the 4Mation website and download the podcasts

Using Visual and Audio Assets in Literacy
We know that ICT can enhance the learning experience of pupils and when we control and direct the learning it has incredible potential. I have re uploaded a PowerPoint presentation which combines visual and aural stimulus which can be useful in supporting pupils in their writing. This was produced by the Literacy Strategy as part of resources for schools.

Literacy Podcasts - Instructional Writing
Year 6 from St. Mary and St. Thomas Aquinas have come up with some audio files to help with revising the genres of writing for their SAT tests. For each genre the pupils are to think of a character that typifies that genre. Then they are going to get into role, try to advise each other through the role of the character and what they should include in that genre of writing. For instructional writing they decided that a policeman was the most appropriate character.
