Rosemary Endacott from Lord Lawson of Beamish School writes...

Year 8 pupils from Lord Lawson school are asking to return to Gateshead City Learning Centre as soon as possible following an enjoyable morning spent learning animation skills. Twenty six pupils worked against the clock to create a two minute animated film which had been prepared during the previous week.

Their enthusiasm was matched by the excellent advice and help they received from Paul Stott and Natalie. By the end of the morning, they were reluctant to leave. When they returned to school their smiles and comments said it all:

'Will we go there next week, Miss?'
'Wow! Wait til I tell my mates what we've done.'
'I really enjoyed that. It was brill.'

As the government tries to raise achievement in schools, particularly amongst boys, it's interesting to note that the majority of this group were boys. Many of whom took on extra homework in order to achieve their goals.

Verdict?
A resounding success!
